'Valuing SEND' is a project currently based in the step up from early years settings to primary schools.which improves and personalises the way children with SEND are supported through this change.  It focuses on School readiness, we are already receiving feedback on how well it is working, with the 2nd phase seeing some secondary schools keen to pilot this approach. This fits in with the aim of having all schools ready for our unique children and young people regardless of whether there is a diagnosis, identifying the need to support in the classroom/educational setting.

The Valuing SEND tool is a visual representation of the needs of the child in 5 distinct areas, overlaid with the capacity at home and the setting readiness of the nursery and the primary school. This project encourages mainstream schools to become more appropriate for neurodivergent and SEND children rather than placing all the pressure on the child and the home.
